To all the people with no logo: please get that logo of yours taken care of. This is your brand!
I can’t believe the number of sites that have plain text headers. I’m not talking about sites that were put up last week. I’m talking about relatively mature sites that have been around for at least three months. If you’ve had your site for three months, I know 90% of you are about to fall off the face of the earth. That’s usually enough time for the non-serious people to give up so I know they’ll never have a logo on those sites. But if you decide to move forward, then it’s time to step up!
If you ask most folks, nothing says newbie more than a text header. I’ve seen some pretty amazing sites that were essentially ruined by not having a unique and professional logo. You’ll lose your one chance to make that incredible first impression. Trust me, all the hard work you put into getting visitors is wasted when they swing by, leave, and never come back!
Although I’m not the most artistic person you’ve ever met but I can hold my own when it comes to putting something creative together. And even I didn’t make my own. The problem is, many of us believe we’re pretty artistic even if we totally suck at it. Can we please set our egos aside?
Get a real artist!
Look, I get it, a logo is not an expense you want to bear upfront. In fact, I have personally never actually paid for a logo. What have I done in the past? I’ve exchanged services for other services. In the past, I have provided sponsored posts, written guest articles, provided SEO advice, given ad space for a period of time, and even posted a few backlinks. The point is that you should take advantage of what you’re good at and leverage that.
And if you have nothing to offer other than cold, hard cash, go with my buddies over at LogoNerds. You can read my disclosure but the truth is, I just want you to get a logo. Everyone has access to an incredible logo for under $30. Seriously, $27? I’m not even sure how they make money.

I agree, logo is often needed to make a site appear as serious as it’d like to be seen. And it doesn’t even have to be too experience, up to $20 should get you a decent logo.

Many logo options are available. I would stay away from the free logos but even that’s better than a text title.
I’ve been planning for this task recently, and I must say it’s a hard one if you’re not really inclined with designing, but I still think it’s cool if the logo has a personal touch from the owner. But once my concept about it is done, I think I would outsource the task of making it, I just want the idea to come from me, since it’s my brand.
By the way, thanks for giving the idea for its cost Klaus

I don’t have a logo. But I’m thinking seriously about it. I do agree with you that it gives a pro-touch to the blog…& it’s necessary to build a brand.

A logo is a relatively small investment, especially since it’s so visible by all your visitors.
Much agreed, first impressions are everything! Especially in this business.
Truly amazing how many “businesses” that people have online that don’t have any branding, isn’t it?
Yes, a logo is on my to-do list, and I know it’s important. But there’s all these other things too. I’ll talk to my web design guy about it…

Currently my avatar and logo are one in the same, see on home page.
I’m not sure what I’d have as an actual logo but i think yours has given me some thoughts.

Your logo/avatar is fine. I see you have some more important work to do right now though, like getting your articles back up!
I agree 100% with the comments in this article, your brand is an important element of business, therefore if you want to launch a website, the logo is the necessary elements to make a site appear as serious as it wants to be seen. here is an article of knowledge useful information for all readers in the Internet world. thanks for sharing information,I bookmark the your site.
What do I do with a logo? I don’t have letterhead. I’m not sure how I’d get it on my WordPress blog. You got me excited about getting one–$27! Shall I hang on to it until I make expensive business cards? Hmmm….

Everyone needs a logo!
Hi Gabe,
Part of my logo-header, which isn’t much of a logo either – is my Gravatar pic as well. I created my header through XL Header. I’m having a difficult time trying to come up with a concept for a logo so that’s why I haven’t made the plunge to pay for one. It’s one of those to-do items that I need to place on the front-burner for sure.
I’m going to head over and check out Logo Nerds to see more of what they’re all about – I read your post on them as well.

I’ve been very impressed with LogoNerds. I know that I’m an affiliate but the truth remains: a kick-ass logo and a painless process for $27!
BTW, just want to add…great job on using the frugal theme on your site!
I wish I was a better artist because I’d enjoy creating my own logo. as it happens, I’m rubbish so I tend to fork out cash for my websites. Problem is, even though individually they are inexpensive, once you get up to a few hundred websites, that can add up to a lot of money. However, as you said, a smart logo keeps people on your site and gives a professional appearance.

It still amazes me to this day the amount of blogs I see that have no logo, they just keep the default wordpress thing, and even some still have the “just another wordpress blog” tag line thing, come on people! You need a logo!

I know! It tells me in a nanosecond that the blogger isn’t serious.
you said it, I agree with your.
You are right, if you want to build a brand, then start with the beginning: a powerful name and a log which can be remembered easily.
I have a site, but how do I let more and more know my site logo?
yes, you are right, it’s important, if we ready to build brand, first, we must have a special logo, like we ready to build a new dvd software brand, we must design a logo which should let people think dvd.
Finally our speciality…
I couldn’t agree more about having a bespoke design that works hard for your company. A plain text header is so home-made it detracts in every way from a companies branding. Although there are $30 logo deals out there, I would be careful as the finished product could well be a recycled mish-mash of previous logos or use stock icons etc. Ideally you want to be able to have a conversation with the designer about all aspects of your business, they should then be able to take you in the right direction. Check out Logo Supermarket for all your design and print needs.
I really think that to buy a logo is a need, because when it look professional it just makes the client buy something more :p works for http://www.wowcast.de/forum
