Time to check your Google PageRank again!

As expected, Google just updated the PageRank (PR) they’re willing to show you. The last time they did that was about three months ago (see: A new year, a new Google PageRank).

At that time, I had a PR2 on the home page with some articles at PR3 and PR4. My goal was improve the types of backlinks this site is getting to bring my home page up to a PR4. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t anticipating this update since I wanted to see how my tactics are performing.

If you’re using a PR add-on, I’m sure you’ve already looked at this site’s PR while reading this article. Free Blog Help is currently a PR4! I know I could’ve done more to bump it even higher but right now I’m pretty satisfied.

As I mentioned many times before, the PR is constantly moving behind the scenes. The published PR we see today is simply a snapshot in time and we won’t see progress (or regress) for another few months. Perhaps one day Google will be kind enough to let us see this ranking in almost real time.

Learn more about Google PageRank if you can. It shouldn’t drive everything that you do but I personally don’t like to ignore it.
