Over time, a blogroll will evolve. If you’ve seen your PageRank (PR) increase over the last few months, there’s a good chance that some of the bloggers you befriended when you were both PR0 are still at PR0!

Typically, I’m pretty loyal to the people who were part of my early readership. They’ve been here since the early days and have remained regulars, even if some of their activity has decreased over time. Whether they’ve lost interest in their blog activities or their blog workload has increased, I’ll still leave them on my blogroll for a bit, essentially giving them the benefit of the doubt and a long leash.

However, there are some who I have exchanged with who simply disappeared. Either they’ve stopped communicating with me since they appeared on my blogroll, they’ve removed me from their blogroll (never intended to really do an “exchange”), or their sites were abandoned. Those are all pretty good reasons to take them off my list, don’t you think?

If you don’t know already, the links from strong PR sites are an incredible value. It’s actually something people will pay for! A link from one of these sites can be worth hundreds from other sites because it tells Google that you have a powerful friend. It tells them that your content is important to someone who is important. Talk about a getting boost in your PR and SERP (search engine results page)!


Joining my blogroll

So what you’ll be getting is a slot on a PR4 page. It doesn’t cost you a cent. The only thing I ask is that I get the same in return.

Anyone who has been coming here knows I’m not a snob. I’ll help anyone and everyone. The problem is, everyone can’t make it on my blogroll. The PR juice is shared so throwing 100 links in there would really dilute it for the folks on there. I’m planning on adding three more but I could be convinced to go beyond that.

Here’s the criteria:

  • Your home page must have a PR2 or higher.
  • Your site is related to my niche, which is blogging/MMO.
  • You have been contributing to this site as a commentor.
  • Your Alexa rank is under 100k or has shown consistent growth toward that number.
  • Your site must be DoFollow for your comments.
  • You must be willing to include a link back to me from your home page.

If you meet all six, then please let me know. I’ll take a look at your submission and I’ll subjectively choose who I’d like.

And if you’re looking for a free pass, I do have one. If you have a PR5 or higher, I’ll be much more forgiving in the other areas.
