Does everything Google touch turn to gold? Not quite but Google does have an incredible track record for innovation.  I guess that’s what happens when Google lets their employees spend 20% of their time on any project they want!

Several months ago, I posted a Google Wave preview from the 2009 Google I/O Developer Conference. I stated that it *might* be the next BIG thing. Well, after getting my invitation and spending a few hours with it, I must say that I was wrong: Google Wave is undoubtedly the next BIG thing.

Let’s face it, email hasn’t changed since the dawn of mainframes. It’s about time someone move past the technology dinosaur and actually revolutionize how we communicate. This tool is so impressive that even Google-haters will secretly covet it. Their only wish would be that the tech company that they worship (whether it be Apple or Microsoft) created the concept first.

Google calls it an “online tool for real-time communication and collaboration” but I’m sure you want to know how it benefits you. All I can say is if you haven’t seen the Google Wave preview yet, here it is again below. Grab some popcorn and see for yourself.

Google Wave is currently by invitation only. If the video gets your juices flowing, ask me for an invite in the comments area since I have some to give away. I’ll use the email you posted with (unless otherwise noted) and Google will kick it off to you in a few days.
