I think both have their own importance using single strategy may not give results as compared by using the combination of both strategies.

I think text ads and image ads is the same its influences. I think location of text ads or image ads on the page more important.

Was my experience text add seemed to do well … I’ll just assume it was easier to miss click it since it blended in so well with my site … no I wasn’t doing it intentionally, there was a obvious border in place and the font changed anyways … Also found that since there were more text-based ads available for rotation, there was a accuracy in terms or relevancy.

I have the experience where I configured my Ads to image for months, and I received a email from Google advising me to switch back to text+image Ads. I’m not sure whether it brings more revenue, but it’s worth to try. Switch it back to image only Ads if it generate less clicks.

I know it’s hard to figure out whether to use the text or the image ad. But I guess it all depends on your choice. Whatever you think looks good on your blog, then go for it.

Thanks for the share Gabe. I was also intrigued as to which ads (image vs. text ads) have higher CPC rates. Some forums I visited say that image has higher CPC rate because the space they occupy is equivalent to 3 or 4 text ads.
