Nothing like a waterfront skyline with buildings that supply their own nightly light show! Let’s come back to this picture in a bit.
Anyway, so you frequent my site often and totally get my message. We’ve also had dialog via comments and emails. And of course, you’ve read my bio several times already. But do you really know what makes me tick?
Devang Vibhakar runs SpeakBindas and does a great job maintaining it through content provided by interviewing bloggers. I mean, anyone he requests for an interview would surely link to their own interview, right? What a great way to get content and backlinks at the same time!
Aside from the typical questions about blogging, site stats, and reader interaction, if you’d like to learn more about my favorite movie of 2009, what I’d like to change about myself, my greatest fear, or why I included that skyline in this post, feel free to swing by SpeakBindas’ interview with Gabe Young.
Hey, I’m not that narcissistic to think that everyone would even care to stop by but if you’re curious just a tad, head on over there and let me know what you think.

Devang is a great guy and hats off to him for successfully running Speak Bindas (even though the interview document that I’m supposed to send him is lying on my desktop for quite a while now and I must do something about it)!
Congrats on the interview. Will read it this afternoon

Hey man, this isn’t really topic related. I wanted to thank you for all your tips and the great site. Before I found this site I was making about $2 a day from AdSense ads. Noticing your text link ads (Kontra) I decided to check these out. I searched a lot and decided on Infolinks instead of Kontra (heard they pay better overall).
Anyways I just wanted to show you the results of this. My AdSense account has been re-used on a couple smaller sites Ive made in the past, so when I started it on this site it already had about $30 on it.
This is the lifetime total of my google adsense account: http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/1102/googlefn.png
This is 7 days of Infolinks since I put them up: http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/9459/infolinks.png
So thanks man, without this site I would have continued to be a clueless AdSense only user, thinking my $2 a day was awesome. The best part is that my stats keep climbing and I am now getting over 25k page loads a day. It was only last week that 12k was the norm, I don’t know how its happening, but my site is growing like wildfire!
I Intend to check this site daily for the great info, I still have much to learn.

Jake, thanks for taking the time to provide me with such incredible feedback!
Being able to monetize your site using various methods is key since there’s no one single method that’s 100% reliable. I appreciate the transparency and supporting evidence that you showed. I’m sure it’ll help a lot of other readers as well.
Personally, although Kontera has been good to me, you gave me a good reminder to go try something else. So, I signed up with Infolink this morning and will see how that goes. Almost every activity has to be monitored and in post links are no different. Hopefully, I’ll see similar results as you have.
Gabe, I really liked what you had to say about how you appreciate every genre of music out there. Literally every one. A lot of people say they like music but to truly appreciate it at any level other than the “norm” is really amazing.
On everything else in your interview, very cool!
I had no idea you were from Hong Kong. That’s interesting.

Even I had no clue that Gabe is from Hong Kong! Internet is so funny; it makes us feel so close even though we are so far apart.

As I mentioned in my interview, I came over to the US when I was four and a half. So Cantonese is actually my first language.
Since then, I’ve been very Americanized so even some of my close friends don’t know that English is my second language. I still try to stay true to my roots including trying to teach my kids to be multi-lingual. The tough part is that my Chinese vocabulary is about as good as a pre-schooler!
Gabe,
Wow, it’s really something that you have been here so long that your Chinese is to that point. Always time you can learn it again if you like.
I feel the same way, Tech, the Internet DOES make everyone feel much more closer. It’s as if we’re all a family after a few weeks of reading one another’s blogs and engaging in conversation.
I can appreciate most artists, not only music. Of course I find some music genres more enjoyable than others but I’ll never shy away from listening to something outside my personal norm.
That’s one attention-grabbing headline, Gabe! I just had to come over and look.
From what I have read on your blog and the interview, I find commenting means a lot to you, and you know you’re planting the seeds for something that is mutually beneficial. I agree with you wholeheartedly. I find you an inspiration and I’m grateful for the peek into your life.
Yes, we feel the passion alright, and that’s why we keep coming back for more valuable content.

I couldnt stop Thanking you for letting u know about yourself … couldnt believe the fact that u started blogging in 1990′s.. :O
Blogging was such a different animal back then though. As I wrote in my corporate soapbox article, blogging has come from a seldom-read personal diary to a must-have component for every organization.

Gabe, I’ve always appreciated your ability to contribute meaningfully even when I (very strongly) suspect you might not agree with something.
That takes real talent, and I am not surprised you have been so successful.
Thanks, Dave. That means a lot coming from you!
